Welcome back to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production! During the summer before you join our course, we would like you to see as much music and the performing arts as possible. This includes gigs, concerts, dance, music, television, films, carnival or cinema. We would also like you to begin drafting sections of your personal statement, details of this are provided in the holiday task section below. Please find below some important information to ensure you are prepared for your course.

Course Information

These are items you will be expected to bring with you to college and to keep about you at all times during the course. Please ensure that you have all the following stationery & equipment available for the Meet the Team Day:

Please note – the items marked by an asterisk (*) are available from the college shop, which is located in Reception at the Folly Lane campus. Opening hours during term time are:

Monday – Thursday: 8.30am – 4.30pm

Friday: 8.30am – 4pm

The finance department will contact you soon with details about course fees and funding.

Enrolment Checklist

To make sure you are prepared on enrolment day, here is a checklist of everything you will need:

Course Structure

Unit 9: Developing Music Performance and Production Skills

Unit 10: Exploration of Specialist Study in Music Performance and Production

Unit 11: Preparing for Progression in Music Performance and Production

Unit 12: Project Proposal for Extended Project in Music Performance and Production

Unit 13: Extended Project in Music Performance and Production

Please note – students will be reviewed in the first six weeks of each year to assess their academic progress.

Students aged 16-18 who have not achieved grade 4/C or above in GCSE English Language or English Literature and/or Maths will be required to study either GCSE or Functional Skills at an appropriate level as part of their course.

Higher Education or Employment

The level 3 extended diploma lays the groundwork for you to progress on to employment in the creative industries or to higher education courses in a huge range of subjects including HCA's very own degrees.
