Abbie McKelvie

2026 Degree Show - brand design by Dan Harris

BA(Hons) Fine Art

About this work:

There’s a milky smell… or is it bad breath?

A ten-year-old blackberry lollipop hides in the deep, deep crevice of the sofa. It emerges with a new, freshly styled, sticky wad of hair.

Interested in the subtle interactions between everyday things and spaces, I work with found objects, images, writing, and interventions within existing architecture and the built environment to reframe everyday moments and explore how immediate reality can become fictionalised.

Dissertation: Interpretation and Opacity in Jasleen Kaur’s ‘Boomerang’
