- 100,000 Rose Petals - 2026

Rose petals

The Rose petal is used in the personal and political contexts of Palestinian life.

In Gaza since October 2023, it is estimated that over 70,000 people have died, but no one knows how many more people are buried under the rubble or obliterated by bombs.

Over five days (Monday 8th to Friday 12th) I will count each rose petal to mark the death of a Woman, or Man or a Child in the war on Gaza.

You are welcome to watch, but as this work is a ritual I will not be engaging with viewers. I will be happy to talk about this piece after I have finished each day.

- A Shared Trauma - 2024

Paper, acrylic paint, ink, sand, wood ash, glue, cloth, rose petals

6.40 m X 20cm X 13

This work consists of 13 scrolls with the names of the 280 Polish Ghettos in the Second World War (the Shoah or Holocaust) and the 418 Palestinian villages destroyed in 1948 (the Nakba) the names, population and date of liquidation for the ghettos and if a massacre or an atrocity happened in Palestine.

Each name will be read out while 2 musicians (Camilla Saunders and Dave Bennett aka Max Reinhardt) improvise to the work. The performance will happen on Saturday 6th June from 11am to 2pm. We are happy to talk about the work when we have completed the piece.

- Extracts from a Short history of Palestine/Israel told through Balloon Modelling Part one and two - 2025

Film, 5 minutes

This work explores the conflicted history of Palestine/Israel. The work is based on the book ‘A very short history of the Israel-Palestine conflict’ by Illan Pappe, a celebrated Israeli historian. It is my attempt to unravel the threads of the history and use the visual absurdity of balloon modelling to tell this story.

This film is an extract from a bigger performance piece telling the history from 1300 AD to 1929. I am one of the World’s worst balloon modellers.
