Louahanna-Rane Hopkins

2026 Degree Show - brand design by Dan Harris

BA(Hons) Fine Art

About the artist:

My fine art practice revolves around shock, history and iconography. However, my art all stems from learning, and this has allowed me to develop my writing skills simultaneously.

As a result of my dissertation, I will be joining the Courtauld Institute for MA History of Art.

About this project:

“Body and Blood” is an immersive instillation focused on the interactions between science and religion, using Christian iconography alongside outlandish, cruel and unusual medical treatments.

My practice combines the sacred with the savage and strange, promoting learning and provoking conversations that are still incredibly relevant in public health today. The artworks are mainly traditional, however outside of degree show I have also developed my digital art and collage skill.

I chose to have my degree show separate from my peers as I feel the space could become overwhelming, but primarily because of the rooms architecture combining clinical and clerical.
