Jon joined HCA in May 2019 to lead on the new Level 3 Digital Futures & Interactive Media curriculum. He previously worked at Dudley College of Technology where he helped to develop new courses in creative digital media and TV & film production at all college and higher education levels in just 5 years.
So, when the opportunity arose to design and shape the future of digital and interactive media at HCA, Jon jumped at the chance with both feet. Alongside 12 years of working in education Jon also has almost 20 years’ industry experience working within the creative digital media sector as a camera-operator, editor and producer, shooting concerts and music videos for big name artists, alongside producing short-film and factual based productions.
One of Jon’s claim to fame is that he is a ‘Guinness World Record’ holder. Jon was part of the camera department for the fastest ever DVD/CD release of a multi-camera recorded music concert for progressive rock masters Marillion.
From the first note played to the first professionally authored and packaged double DVD/ triple CD being sold, the turn-around was an unbelievable 10 hours and 31 minutes, beating the previous record by 1 hour and 53 minutes! Jon loves to inspire and be inspired by students, who are the next generation of content and product creators for the creative digital media industry.
