We approached Graphics tutor Innes in the hope that we might be able to work with his second year students on the branding and publicity of an exhibition we were organising. We were keen on collaborating with other students within the college rather than outsourcing the designs, and hoped the experience would be mutually beneficial.

It has been a fantastic experience working with the graphics students; first we were able to set a brief where each of the students created individual exciting and innovative designs for us. Then after a really tough process of elimination we selected a fun and elegant design created by Katie Brymer to take forward into development.

We worked with Katie to develop her initial ideas, and tailoring it to our specific branding needs.
It was such a new and exciting experience working with other students within the college, especially those who we wouldn’t usually have the opportunity to meet.

As contemporary craft students, It became apparent to us very quickly the benefit of being in such a close arts community. The graphics students understood easily what we were doing and how we wanted to be portrayed via our brand. Our exhibition has been elevated to the next level thanks to the input and help from all of the students; especially Katie.

It has allowed us to present our work in a professional way; which is so valuable at this stage in our degrees. We are incredibly grateful for the keenness of the graphics students to be involved in our project, and we hope that other students will consider the benefits of collaboration in the future.

Below are more examples of work produced during the project.
