Oliver says,

“The aim of my MA is to create sound by forming relationships between crafted objects which are constructed from site specific materials and which have been tested in their location and recorded both audibly and visually. The sound producing objects along with the accompanying video footage, photographs and sound recordings will ultimately form a narrative and capture sound, time, aesthetic and space. So far I have visited Dead Horse Bay, New York and an asylum in Talgarth, Mid Wales. However, the site which has had my main focus, is an abandoned dry ski slope just outside Sheffield which suffered from three cases of arson and now lies in a state of disrepair and is closed. I have talked to locals and used debris from this site to make an sphere which has metal bells tied into its structure which create sound. I intend to record this rolling down the abandoned dry ski slope.”
