How does photography exist beyond the flat surface? Can it be more than just an image—an object in its own right, pulsing with meaning and intention?
In a world dominated by the digital, where pixels merge and dissolve, the essence of a photograph—its origin, its physicality—can become obscured. The ‘networked’ image now serves as both representation and validation, shaping our experiences and interactions. But does this reliance on digital imagery limit our understanding of photography’s potential?
This exhibition invites you to reconsider the role of photography in space, exploring its material presence and questioning its function beyond the screen. How can we challenge the conventions of the photographic image, and why should we?
Photography students will exhibit the results of a five-week exploration project led by Artist Katrina Stamatopoulos
Opening Night: Thursday 20th February - 16:00 to 17:00
