A riso print inspired by a K-Pop band. The scene depicts a destroyed city with a zeppelin flying across a neon pink and orange sky.

This risograph short course for illustrators explores the unique qualities of risograph printing, teaching techniques for creating vibrant, multi-layered prints. Participants will experiment with colour, texture, and composition to produce their own illustrated riso prints.

Course Overview

This risograph short course is designed specifically for illustrators interested in exploring the distinctive qualities of risograph printing. Over the duration of the course, participants will learn the basics of the process, from creating digital artwork to preparing files for print.

Emphasizing vibrant colours, texture, and layering techniques, illustrators will experiment with multiple inks to create striking, one-of-a-kind prints. The course will cover essential topics such as risograph machine operation, paper selection, and printing techniques, with a focus on artistic expression and hands-on practice.

By the end, participants will have a portfolio of their own illustrated risograph prints which they will have the opportunity to sell at CMYK Festival in 2025.
