Creative Workshops for 11-16 year olds

These workshops are designed specifically for those who are attending high school, and love the arts. Whether it’s painting and drawing, design, media or graphics, these workshops aim to provide a creative outlet for young people during the school half term and summer holidays. Working alongside our expert teaching staff and accessing our specialist resources: each workshop provides an opportunity to learn new skills and make like-minded friends. Choose from an inspiring range of workshops on offer.

3D Workshop – Create and Make with Ella Sibley

Get creative in the 3D workshop and make something amazing. This workshop combines all the elements of design, processing and making, using 21st Century technology.

Digital Animation with Nick Brown

Fancy becoming an animator for a day? Come along to this fun taster workshop and try your hand at a variety of digital animation techniques including rotoscope, keyframing and digital hand drawn. Try out our wacom drawing tablets and learn industry standard software to create a short animated film.

Digital Studio Photography with Oliver Cameron-Swan

This workshop explores the creative possibilities of digital studio photography. Many different special effects can be achieved using a range of techniques such as multiple exposures, strobe flash and painting with light.

Graphic Design with Mitchell Adams

An introduction into the world of branding through logo and packaging design. Brainstorm your ideas and create your own logo and packaging designs for a variety of pre-selected products. Using the Adobe Suite, see your ideas come to life!

Learn to Sew with Sally Kingston

Learn how to make a box bottomed bag and embellish it with your own applique design. If you want to, bring an old item of clothing with pockets to transform and transform it into something useful or fun.

Painting Fantasy Landscapes with Letty Noonan

A twist on traditional landscape painting – explore the principles of mixing colours and the basics of a landscape image and styles before designing fantasy landscapes ranging from space to below the ocean!

Digital Animation with Nick Brown

Drawing from Life with Letty Noonan

Learn a mixture of drawing techniques to improve your drawing skills. In the session we will be drawing from observation, using mixed materials and techniques to build up a series of drawings for you to take away.

Film Making with Joel Munson

Make a film in a day! Working in teams, participants will work against the clock to plan, storyboard, shoot, act and edit their films (complete with sound and effects and music) and by the end of the day their movie is complete! There will be a screening of the finished films at the end of the day and each participant will be provided with a Youtube link to their film for them to watch and share.

Introduction to Film Acting with Mia Gordon

Ever wanted to know the tricks of the trade when acting for camera? This is a one-day introductory workshop in acting for camera. You will learn techniques and tips on how to maximise your performance on screen and learn how a television and film director will work with you.

Learn to be a Potter with Lucy Baxendale

Get messy with clay! Learn different handbuilding techniques and skills needed to design and create your very own piece of pottery. Experiment with hollow forms, slab building & glazing and pick up professional tips along the way.

Screen Printing with Katherine Wibmer

Screen printing is a wonderful, timeless process in which pigment is pushed through a fabric mesh onto the desired surface.  Students can experiment with colour, shape, pattern and composition, hand printing their own designs onto fabric.
