The aim of this course is to introduce you to the fundamental skills of both Drawing and Painting. The course will run in two halves, firstly, you will be guided through technical drawing skills, using individual still life compositions to enable sustained observation. You will be involved in the expressive and playful potential of drawing. The second half of the course will be an introduction to acrylic and oil, allowing for time with each material. You will be offered knowledge of modern and historical pigments, paints and binders, surfaces and brushes, but most importantly, you will gain practical technical skills to enable greater confidence in your painting ability.

Suitable for complete beginners or those wishing to develop their confidence in drawing and painting. Basic materials supplied to get you started, you will be advised of any additional materials required depending on what you would personally like to achieve.

“I learned things I hoped to learn and also things I hadn’t realised I could learn.”
