Our summer specialist workshop days are designed specifically for those who are in year 6 to 9 (Ages 10-14). They will have a taste of Art & Design, Digital Futures, Music and Performing Arts. With two summer dates to choose from,  both days will aim to provide a creative outlet for young people during the summer holidays.

Working alongside our expert teaching staff and accessing our specialist resources: each session provides an opportunity to learn new skills and make like-minded friends.

Details of what students will experience on the day 

Art & Design with Hannah Jones 

  • “Drawing from life” Using different drawing techniques, students will explore the art of observational drawing!

Performing Arts with Mia Gordan

  •  “How to create a character” – students will be using text, physical theatre and mask to learn how to a create a character.

Music with Stevie Callender

  • “Rock ‘n’ Pop Band”- In this jam packed workshop we will be learning, rehearsing, and performing as a band a range of covers or original music. You will be put in a band where you can play/learn a range of instruments from drums, bass guitar, electric/ acoustic guitar, vocals, keyboard and many more. You have the opportunity to songwrite and play with your band mates. You can be a total beginner, a grade 8 musician or just an outright music lover.

Digital Futures with Ian Hepworth (Tuesday only)

  • Rotoscoping (animation).

Digital workshops with Alex Burns (Wednesday only)

  • “Portrait Photography”- Learn the fundamentals of digital photography using a DSLR and some fun with studio portraiture using off-camera flash.


  • Students are required to bring a packed lunch and snacks with them.
