Working with Schools
Hereford College of Arts has strong links with local and regional secondary schools offering creative learning opportunities for 11 – 16 year-olds.
As the only specialist art, design, music and performing arts college in the West Midlands – we are able to offer a wealth of experience from our staff, the majority of whom are practicing artists, designers or performers.
We offer schools an inspiring range of creative workshops which we can bring out direct to your classroom. These are delivered by our talented graduate ambassadors, who will help your students get hands-on to explore a new process and express their creativity.
As well as our very popular spring and summer workshops, the college offers further opportunities to engage young people though our HCA Young Photographer Competition and the Brian Hatton Young Artist Competition.
The Schools Expo gives students from county schools the opportunity to see their work displayed in a public space. Celebration events are held where invited guests preview the exhibition before its public opening.
This is a unique opportunity for schools to show the creative talents of their students alongside other schools. Curated by Hereford College of Arts, the exhibition is a lively and vibrant celebration of the fantastic work done by Herefordshire school students. It is open to ALL county primary and secondary schools, so if your school would like to take part, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to get in touch with us regarding our school workshops and events, please email us at email@example.com.
Working with Colleges
We work with students and lecturers from colleges across the country to support young people considering university-level degrees at HCA to get all of the information they need. We run Taster Days and Open Days, offering potential students and their tutors an insight into the life and practices of the college.
