The best way to find out about our undergraduate courses is to come along to one of our Open Days.  You will have the chance to meet students and staff, hear about the courses in more detail, tour around the workshops and studios, and find out what it might be like to study in a highly specialised art college.

Making an Application

Full-time BA (Hons) degrees and Foundation degrees (FdAs)

Applications for all our undergraduate courses should be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Further information can be found in the UCAS handbook which is available through schools and colleges, or by visiting the website at www.ucas.com

When applying for a course at Hereford, you will need to include the Hereford College of Arts institution code: H18 as well as the individual course codes which can be found on the individual course web pages.

Once we have received your application, you will be invited to the college to attend an interview. Please note that you will be required to bring along a recent portfolio of work with you to interview. During the interview, the tutor will assess your suitability for the courses based on the entry requirements for that particular course - again, these can be found on the individual course web pages.

Please note that Hereford College of Arts is able to offer prospective students advisory interviews, on an informal basis, prior to completing your UCAS application form. Please contact one of HE Administrators on 01432 273359 or e-mail undergrad@hca.ac.uk for more details.

You can choose up to 5 universities/colleges and UCAS will send your application to all institutions at the same time. Applications to courses at Hereford College of Arts must reach UCAS by 15 January 2010 (though UCAS advises you to apply by mid November to allow colleges more time to view your portfolio). Late applications will be considered (subject to availability of places).

Part Time Undergraduate Courses
Applications should be made direct to the College. Part Time Application forms are available from Folly Lane reception, the college website www.hca.ac.uk or e-mailing registry@hca.ac.uk or by telephoning 01432 273359. You will be required to obtain a personal reference.

Clearing

If you apply late or have not met the conditions of your offer at the institution of your choice, you may apply through the Clearing process which runs from July until early October. Please see the official UCAS dates for Clearing 2010 by visiting www.ucas.ac.uk. The college will advise UCAS on those courses that Hereford College of Arts is putting forward for Clearing. Please note, some courses may already be full at this time and may not be part of the Clearing process.

Overseas Applicants

Overseas applicants must apply through the UCAS system for full time undergraduate courses. The College will invite applicants to send in a CD/DVD or electronic version of their portfolio along with a covering letter. All overseas applicants whose first language is not English will be required to achieve IELTS 6 (reading & writing) or equivalent prior to enrolment on the course.  In addition, the student must also have a student visa and have paid the tuition fees in full prior to enrolment. Please contact the Finance Department for further information: 01432 273359

Taster Days

We arrange a series of Taster Days where prospective students can come along and try their hand at a wide variety of courses and media.  This are normally booked via schools and colleges.
