Our students thrive as part of a specialist group and specifically choose to study in a smaller, friendly college environment. Many students want to avoid the trappings of a larger University or metropolitan centre, which often seems intimidating and impersonal to new students.
Our students often socialise off the campus in the historic city of Hereford or even get involved in one of the various outdoor activities available in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Student Life For a rural county previously renowned for its history in cider making and farming, Herefordshire is fast building a widening reputation for music, art and sporting events, including; The ‘Big Chill’, Hay Book Festival, Ross-on-Wye music festival and the Eastnor 24hr mountain bike race, as well as numerous open air concerts and theatre. A new, purpose-built theatre and arts centre - The Courtyard – also provides an ideal year-round venue for a variety of popular bands, contemporary comedians, artists and fringe performers.
Hereford is full of highly individual and unusual shops, as well as the regular retail outlets to be found in most major towns. With city accommodation readily available and at reasonable rates, Hereford provides a significantly safe environment that has escaped the high levels of risk experienced in other larger urban environments.
