Learning Support

Learning Support is available to students studying at Further and Higher Education level.

All students entering the college are screened for additional support needs and where appropriate further assessment, advice and guidance is offered. Students are encouraged to take up the support which is provided by an experienced and highly qualified team of specialist tutors. Support is individually tailored to students’ needs and the Learning Support team work closely with course tutors to provide effective and appropriate support. Support is provided for a very wide range of difficulties and the team includes an ESOL specialist.

Further Education students taking up support at the college have a very high level of success and often progress to Higher Education.

The Learning Support team welcomes enquiries from prospective students and the team is available for consultation at Open Days, Parents Evenings and Information Days but may be contacted at any time by telephone or email. Learning Support tutors are also available for informal discussion at interview or at the enquiry stage and is happy to provide support for students applying for a place at the college.





Higher Education students are encouraged and supported in applying for appropriate grants and receive individual tutorials where appropriate. Additional group tutorials and study skills sessions are also available. Students with additional support needs studying at Higher Education level also have high levels of success on their chosen courses of study.
