Hereford College of Arts is the only specialist college in the West Midlands dedicated to the provision of an accessible range of Art, Media, Design, Performing Arts and Music courses in both Further and Higher Education. The college has built up positive reserves and is in a healthy financial position. It currently has approximately 600 Further Education students and 400 Higher Education students. Established in the city of Hereford in 1851 the college has a strong reputation for the quality of its teaching and offers a supportive and responsive environment in which individuals may grow and flourish. This gives focus to the curriculum, the staffing and the resources of the college and provides a distinctive ethos and approach to all of its educational activity. The college offers a wide range of academic levels within this focussed subject area, from entry level work with schools through to honours degree level courses. Connection between these levels and the opportunity this provides for progression is an important unifying theme of all activity. The college has students ranging from 14 years old to mature students.

The governing body, its legal term is the Corporation, was established by the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 and is responsible for the overall functioning of the college.

We are seeking to appoint a governor who will enhance representation on the Board.

This is a voluntary role, and will require energy, motivation and a commitment to attend around 10 meetings each year. Our governors have a variety of backgrounds and use their combined experience and strategic thinking collectively to make a crucial contribution to the future of the College.

We are seeking a candidate who may have a strong background in business, education or public service; has strategic vision, excellent judgement and a willingness to express opinions; and has the desire and ability to make a difference to the College and the local community.

You may be required to model clothed/unclothed. Models are booked as and when required.
