Performance in High Town 06

Introduction

This full or part-time course provides a creative, social and vocational environment for students with learning disabilities. The Contact course plays an important part in College life and students are considered to be at the heart of the College. Throughout the year, students from the art, design and performing arts courses join forces with The Contact Course in integrated collaborative projects or ventures.

Course

The course includes communication and numeracy skills, as well as social and life skills. These are offered in many instances through practical workshop activities such as textiles, ceramics, printmaking, jewellery, IT and performing arts.

Structure

Local facilities are used on a weekly basis for swimming, cookery and sports activities. Educational trips are also ogranised to help  broaden students’ perception of their environment.

During the later stages of the course students will follow a programme of work experience which may lead to supported employment.

After Your Course

Students can also progress to other further education courses or training schemes.
