An important part of the job is keeping up to date with what is happening in the Business community and networking, so my invite to this mornings Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Forum at Thorne Widgery Accountants was an opportunity not to be missed.

This new event launched today provides a useful workshop on a pertinent topic as well as the opportunity to network. Andy Edwards of Thorne Widgery delighted those attending with an entertaining presentation of what it is fair to say could be seen as a rather boring topic – Business One Page Plans or as Andy liked to call the morning a ‘BOPP’. Disco Dancing it wasn’t but useful it certainly was!

Making sure the College’s Business Services keeps up to date and informed ensures we provide the Creative Industries and local Businesses with the training and support they require. Our students benefit too as it helps support Employer Engagement and Enterprise which is a thread that runs right through the College making sure students have opportunities and receive advice and guidance to help support them when they leave and take up employment or set up their own businesses.

So fueled with new knowledge and a real buzz its back to the office to put into action what i have learnt!
