Summer Show Set Up – Week 2

Summer Show Set Up:
As we creep ever closer to June, preparation for the Summer Show is very much underway. The maintenance team have completed the floor plans and building work with only a touch of paint here and there to be added to the walls. We bumped into the maintenance team today (Dane, Pat & Craig), who were full of joy as you can see below!

Elsewhere, the students were working their fingers to the bone as they strive to complete their final pieces in time for the show. We caught up with two of our degree students in the workshops and they were eager to chat to us about the upcoming show.

Louis Caseley – Contemporary Design Crafts

Are you excited for Summer Show 2017?
“I’m really excited for this year’s show and I can’t wait to get stuck into the real world of work after I graduate. I’ve already arranged to work alongside a Suffolk-based sculpture artist specialising in bronze after I leave.”

Can you give us any clues on what we can expect from your final piece?

“Expect to see a body of sculpture that explores the innovation of grip and connection!”

“Yes!! I’m looking forward to seeing what all the other artists at HCA have been working on from across all the courses.”

“Expect to see jewellery that challenges what we consider to be precious and valuable.”
