If you’ve scrolled through our previous blog posts you will know that Mali Goll’s handrail design was selected to be installed at Little Dewchurch church. Now she’s focused on making the handrail, which is made all the more complicated because of the stone curve of the pulpit steps.

This week Mali has been making a drum- a large, semi-circle of sheet metal to the exact shape and size of the curve of the pulpit’s stone steps. She has drawn her design onto the drum and will use it to ensure that each component accurately fits the curve. There is only a month left at the forge before the end of the year so Mali is certainly going to be busy getting the handrail made and then installed!
