Today we had the privilege of attending a talk given by Suzanne Beautyman one of the lecturers here at HCA who is working across a number of undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Today we had the privilege of attending a talk given by Suzanne Beautyman one of the lecturers here at HCA who is working across a number of undergraduate and post graduate programmes. We were captivated by Suzanne’s articulate explanation of her practice and her creative journey which had spanned the US, Italy and the UK. Links were made between material, idea and making as seen in her “objects which connect to the body”. Jewellery practice and art, material connections and junctures, precious and unusual material combinations and conceptual thinking were clearly key to her work.
