“My work is still based on nature, nurture and containment, although I am interpreting this through a different medium. Previously, I explored the first two strands of my proposal and used combinations of rust and naturally dyed found materials: weave, stitch and layered surfaces to explore ideas of nurture, containment and the aesthetic qualities of cocoons, nests and webs.

My practice has moved on considerably and I am now focusing on strand three which is concerned with natural habitats, burrows and holes. I am using combinations of locally sourced fleece and mixed media to explore the concept of the body as a container and using handmade felt and techniques of wrapping and binding. “
