The aim of this course is to equip you with the skills required to enable you to read a commercial pattern, learn how to lay out a pattern, cut fabric and understand the symbols and terminology. This course is designed for people who have attended the Wanna Bee a Sewing Bee course or those who are competent with a sewing machine and know basic garment production techniques. You will complete two to three garments within the 10 weeks, (pyjama bottoms, shift dress, top & trousers).

Basic materials will be provided (tailors chalk, scissors etc.) and there will be some fabric swatches available to you for practising, however you will need to bring own fabric to make your garments. A list of fabric and materials will be given to you at the beginning of the course; avoid fabrics like stretch, jersey, silk, lightweight cotton, velvet & satin etc.
