Our talented staff are available to teach and inspire your students from the comfort of your own classroom! Our workshops are an ideal way for students to discover more about Art & Design at Further Education level & and a fantastic opportunity to experiment with processes in a safe and fun learning environment. With no travelling required, they’re hassle-free and we will bring everything they need to you. Each workshop runs for up to two hours and includes a short introduction about Hereford College of Arts before the students roll up their sleeves and get creative! We don’t charge for the delivery of the workshops, however, we do ask for a £25 materials contribution per event.
We currently offer the following Art & Design workshops:
Our Letterpress workshop gives students the opportunity to expand their creativity & design skills by utilising traditional print processes to create colourful and innovative, typeface-based art work.
The process of Mark Making can be applied to many different materials and surfaces, from paint on canvas, ink, charcoal or pencil on paper to a digital paint tool on a screen. Our Mark Making workshop focuses on using tape to create shapes, forms and images.
Cyanotype is a traditional photographic process used heavily during the early 20th century to reproduce technical drawings cheaply. It’s blue ink gives it a distinctive look and it actually spawned the term “Blueprint” which we still use today. We coat paper in a light sensitive solution before allowing students to place objects (leaves, acetates, keys, photographic negatives etc.) on top. It is then exposed either by bright sunlight or by placing it into our lightbox.
