Mark’s own work questions our relationship to the constructed environment. By responding to both architectural spaces, and everyday objects located in and around those spaces, his work proposes new interpretations, meanings and dialogues between ourselves, and those objects and spaces. By focusing primarily on the overlooked aspects of our surroundings, he attempts to elevate the status of the ordinary.

Mark has been a practising artist since gaining his first degree from Middlesex University in 1983. He was awarded his Masters Degree from UWIC in 1994. He has taught at the college since 1996, being responsible for a sculptural input to Fine Art, both on the BA (Hons) and the MA in Fine Art.

More information and imagery by Mark can be accessed at his website. In 2014, Mark was  elected as a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors

On this video, Mark talks about his site-responsive practice and how he uses found objects to reinterpret the everyday.
