Rob graduated from Hornsey College of Art, London in 1973 in Three Dimensional Design where he specialised in silversmithing. He continued to develop his professional skills and practice at Sir John Cass College, London where he met the engraver Stanley Reece and shared a studio in Clerkenwell, London.

They worked for a variety of clients both in the UK and abroad with many projects and commissions for the Middle East. Rob moved to Norfolk in 1987 and set up a studio in Snettisham where a wider range of work was established including a specialist precious metal plating and conservation facility.

Rob has exhibited widely and is a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths. He has also been involved with teaching since 1974, retiring from the position of Head of Department in Art and Design in King’s Lynn, Norfolk in 2011.

Rob completed his MA in Contemporary Art Jewellery and Silversmithing in 2015, at The School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University. Rob believes that learning and personal development shouldn’t be hampered by age, it’s there to be enjoyed by all! He is also a member of Alloy which is a group of contemporary jewellery and silversmithing makers based in Herefordshire.

I continue to produce work which was included in The Ikon Gallery, Birmingham and completed a Low Tech Photography course at The Slade School of Art, London this summer.
